Philosophical "Anyways"
People are unreasonable, illogical and self-centered.
Love Them anyway.
If you do good, people will accuse you of selfish ulterior motives.
Do good anyway.
If you are successful, you win false friends and true enemies.
Succeed anyway.
The good you do today will be forgotten tomorrow.
Do good anyway.
Honesty and frankness make you vulnerable.
Be honest and frank anyway.
What you spend many years building may be destroyed overnight.
Build anyway.
People really need help but may attack you if you help them.
Help people anyway.
Give the world the best you have and you will get kicked in the teeth.
Give the world the best you have got.

What To Do With What's Left Of 2009.
Well there are many things we can still do,
and apparently as Christmas draws nearer
love is all around us.
Especially I can see that people in Facebook
are all getting into a relationship.
But still its great to have a companion
during the Christmas and the New Year!
Most importantly,
its time of the year to
clear the wardrobe,
enjoy nature,
get some exercise,
and for now prepare for Christmas!

BEST LAWYER/INSURANCE STORY OF THE YEAR,
AND POSSIBLY THE CENTURY.
This took place in
Charlotte North Carolina ...
A lawyer purchased a box of very rare and expensive cigars,
then insured them against,
among other things, fire.
Within a month, having smoked his entire stockpile of these great cigars,
the lawyer filed a claim against the insurance company.
In his claim, the lawyer stated the cigars were lost
'in a series of small fires.'
The insurance company refused to pay,
citing the obvious reason,
that the man had consumed the cigars in the normal fashion.
The lawyer sued and WON!
(Stay with it.)
Delivering the ruling, the judge agreed with the insurance company
that the claim was frivolous.
The judge stated nevertheless,
that the lawyer held a policy from the company,
in which it had warranted that the cigars were insurable and
also guaranteed that it would insure them against fire,
without defining what is considered to be unacceptable 'fire'
and was obligated to pay the claim.
Rather than endure lengthy and costly appeal process,
the insurance company accepted the ruling and
paid $15,000 to the lawyer
for his loss of the cigars that perished in the 'fires'.
NOW FOR THE BEST PART...
After the lawyer cashed
the check, the insurance company had him arrested on 24 counts
of ARSON!!!
With his own insurance
claim and testimony from the previous case being used against
him, the lawyer was convicted of intentionally burning his
insured property and was sentenced to 24 months in jail and a
$24,000 fine.
This true story won First Place in last year's
Criminal Lawyers Award Contest.

Sometimes in the midst of all madness,
you always turn to that someone,
look for a motivation
and fight for something worthwhile,
and baby thats when I decided that
I needed you to stay by my side,
and at least I know that
my life is going to be a blissful one from now on!

Wonderful Weekend.
Its always great to have the weekend
but still I will always complain
time will never be enough.
But still I love the weekends!
Fridays now probably becomes
stay-home-friday-and-cook.

Then it was off to Hani Brown's Charity Sale,
and she really did a great job of her place,
and the girlfriend managed to
find a dress of her liking!

Finally dinner with Alice and XB
at New York New York.
It was a great catch up!

1o Commandments of Marriage!
1st Commandment
Marriages are made in heaven.
But so again, are thunder and lightning.
2nd Commandment
If you want your spouse to listen and
pay strict attention to every word you say,
talk in your sleep.
3rd Commandment
Marriage is grand --
and divorce is at least 100 grand!
4th Commandment
Married life is very frustrating.
In the first year of marriage,
the man speaks and the woman listens.
In the second year, the woman speaks
and the man listens.
In the third year, they both speak and
the neighbors listen.
5th Commandment
When a man opens the door of his car
for his wife, you can be sure of one thing:
Either the car is new or the wife is.
6th Commandment
Marriage is when a man and woman
become as one; the trouble starts when
they try to decide which one.
7th Commandment
Before marriage, a man will lie awake
all night thinking about something you
said. After marriage, he will fall asleep
before you finish.
8th Commandment
Every man wants a wife who is beautiful,
understanding, economical, and a good
cook. But the law allows only one wife.
9th Commandment
Every woman wants a man who is handsome, understanding, economical and a considerate lover, but again, the law allows only one husband.
10th Commandment
Man is incomplete until he marries.
After that, he is finished.

It Shows That You Are Thinking...
A young female teacher was giving her class of 6-year-olds a quiz.
"Behind my back, I have something red, round and you can eat it," she said: "What is it?"
"An apple," replied little Raymond.
"No," said the teacher: "It's a tomato but it shows that you’re thinking. I now have something round, a greenish color and you can eat it."
"An apple," replied little Ian.
"No, it's an onion, but it shows that you’re thinking," the teacher said.
Little scruffy Johnny at the back of the class finally piped up and said: "I have something under my desk that's an inch long, white and it has a red end."
"You dirty little boy!" exclaimed the teacher.
"No, it's a match, but it shows that you were thinking," he answered

The Easy Life.
Its been 2 weeks since I got posted to my unit,
and things have been rather easy
but perhaps at the same time,
slow.
We will start our duty soon,
but we are already short handed.
No matter what,
this is going to be a fulfilling 2 years!
And of course nothing can be done
with the support of loved ones!
A little update:
I just bought a HTC Snap,
a phone recommended by a friend
and it does wonders!
Plus now iPhone is out on Starhub,
phone plan clashes are bound to happen!

Well the next best thing is that
Christmas is coming really soon!
And this is our 4th year spending it together.
It gets boring after a while actually.
Though we are abit short on cash,
we still try to celebrate in our own ways.
I am sure some couples would prefer to
spend it overseas under the sun
since they stay in the colder countries.

But we still dream of spending a
white christmas together
and someday we will make it happen!
And finally American Pie's latest
and probably best sequel after the 3rd one
The Wedding.

The plot is rather simple:
3 great guy friends who plan to get laid
and they have their own sub storyline
which is rather interesting.
But one thing worth it:
Tonnes of boobs flash!
" This is the first film of the straight to DVD AMERICAN PIE films to be written by a person who wrote any of the original trilogy. This time around it’s David H. Steinberg who wrote the story for AMERICAN PIE 2, which while not as good as the first, was definitely better than AMERICAN WEDDING, and leagues above the rest. His touch brings the spirit of the film back to where the first two films were.
But when it comes to AMERICAN PIE there’s always been one thing that the films are about and a reason many young men set out to see them and that’s the sex, the nudity and the gross out humor and it’s all here. Many of the women are INSANELY beautiful, and sure high school students with breast implants are a rarity in the real world, but this is the world of AMERICAN PIE! It’s about as far from real as STAR WARS. School trips with strip poker and no teachers don’t happen in real life, but you can dream right? "

Bang Bang.
Its been almost a week
since I enlisted into my new unit
and life indeed is getting very good!
There is alot of sleep
and play
and freedom.
Well at least until Orientation Drill,
yet again its going to be something
I will have to get used to
for another 1 and a half years.
But still I am really happy
to be in this unit.
This man owns a house that most would die for
but he has not left his home in the last few days and
has been in the news in the last few days
for his much publicized indiscretions.

And the house you just viewed
belongs to none other than Tiger Woods.
Frankly he has nothing much to worry about
if he is willing to learn from his mistakes
and judging by his statement,
I believe he is repenting
and there is nothing better than
to realise your mistakes
and take this chance to do it good.
Well I believe that everyone deserves
a second chance!
Nobody is perfect
and we do have slip ups
but whats most important is
how we follow up on it.
And the funniest thing of the day:
A dogged stepped on a shotgun
and accidently fired 2 men,
one of who was his owner.

Updates.
Perhaps the 2 biggest news for now
are the Dubai's financial crisis
as well as Tiger Wood's car accident.
The latter is so interesting that
people made jokes out of it
and my favourite one has got to be:
" Tiger Woods has so many expensive cars.
And now he has a hole-in-one. "
(That is accurate if I recall it correctly)
And for the Dubai's crisis,
thankfully it doesnt affect Singapore much
if I interpreted the news correctly as well.
And of course the other controversial piece of news:
The standards of Chinese.
See the toughest part is
the role of the government.
They have to ensure kids continue to pass Chinese,
at the same time enforcing the rules
that they have to take Chinese as a second language
without making them actually hate the subject
and they have to pacify the parents whose
kids who cant cope with the topic.
And its even more true that
if parents hope that the standards of Chinese
can be lowered,
then what about subjects like Maths and Science?
Would they compromise the standards?
Well enough of the news,
finally 2 days ago,
I got to do a simple Salsa performance
with the girlfriend
at a friend's charity event
and it went really well!
And I want to thank them for their support!
It was me and the girlfriend's
virgin performance!
And that night,
I went out with my bunch of friends
from my section
for a good drink.
And probably the happiest event
of the week
is being able to get my desired posting:
Istana.
And of course having
a patient and understanding PC.
Well time to wait for Orientation Drill!

Feasts.

Passing Out.

It was finally the day we were all waiting for.
The entire week was well the longest one
due to all the drills
but thinking back,
it was all worth it.
And I am really happy to be part of this unit!
But now comes the troublesome part.
As a trainee here and a recruit back at Tekong,
we had our share of welfare,
but there was little freedom
and less responsibilities
which meant we could be spared
and excused for our mistakes.
Upon graduating,
sadly its no longer the same case
as we will be punished the moment
we have done something wrong.
And I really pity my friends who are posted
to the classified areas.
And honestly I always preferred staying in,
because life was cheaper and more convenient.
Food was indented,
the place to report to was just 2 mins away,
and most of all,
the bed was always there for us.
I do appreciate the times when I was working there.
But no matter what,
thankfully things are looking up now.
And most importantly,
thank you baby for making it to my parade!

The Rush.

With a place like this,
who needs a home?
Off to an extremely short weekend!

Mi Gente.
Its a slow and lazy Sunday
with a cool breeze flowing through
and at least I get to rest until book in.
There are still a few things to get,
but I just want to enjoy this last few days as an MP.
And these are some very interesting shoes...

Afortunado.

It was extremely sweet and thoughtful
for the girlfriend to book tickets
to this show
and she did it because I was actually always
the one to do so
and I truly appreciate her effort.
And the show was definitely worth it,
the storyline and the entire movie
was great!
It managed to clearly explain
why such a disaster couldnt be averted
and finally a sci-fi I understand.
And it was Da Capo reunion dinner
at RP
and it was a big disappointment
that so little (only 5!)
of us turned up.
But the show was rather good overall.
And of course Singapore International Salsa Festival,
I almost gave it a miss this year
but somehow the girlfriend and I decided that
it should never be missed
so we headed down the night party
after my book out
and it was awesome!

The New Swing Sextet,
Henry Knowles,
Supermario
and of course Albert Torres
and with Mi Gente playing in the background,
the party was almost perfect.
"Isn't it ironic?
We ignore the ones who adore us,
adore the ones that ignore us,
love the ones who hurt us and
hurt the ones who love us."
And love can get so complicated at times,
when one is unwilling to give in,
or when one jumps to conclusion,
or when one misunderstands,
but barriers and obstacles happen often,
so its always important to
put our egos and pride aside.
But still its always great to have plans,
at least the motivation is there.
